In this article you will read about Chinese Balloon Reddit.

According to Canadian officials, the massive balloon has not yet entered Canadian Airspace. It flew over Canada’s Arctic, Alberta, and Saskatchewan before being spotted over Montana’s nuclear launch site. Sources claim that it was tracked all the way through its time in Canadian airspace.

After being flagged by Norad (the joint U.S. and Canadian air defense agency), U.S. fighter planes examined the balloon. Although the balloon did not have weapons, it was equipped with high resolution cameras.

Canadian officials had known about the balloon for some time, but the Department of National Defence confirmed that it was tracked late Thursday night after it was reported by the U.S.

When asked why the public wasn’t informed until the balloon entered U.S. Airspace, Marco Mendicino, Public Safety Minister, explained that it was because of the timing.

We must strike a balance in order to ensure we don’t compromise our operations and the methods we use to protect Canadians. He told CTV News Channel’s Power Play on Friday that he was upfront about what needed to be done and when this information could be shared.

We also work closely with our allies in that area. We will continue to do this to defend our perimeter, sovereignty, national security, and other interests.

The Defense Department stated that it was monitoring a second incident, but didn’t elaborate. Sources say that a smaller object could have been released from the balloon and posed a danger to aircrafts. The area has been warned to be avoided by pilots from Saskatchewan and Alberta.

U.S intelligence has at least four balloons from China that it knows about, including one that the Pentagon confirmed as floating over Latin America late Friday night.

This incident has exacerbated tensions between China, the West and China. The Chinese foreign ministry confirmed that the balloon was indeed from China. It also apologized for the balloon’s entry into U.S. Airspace. However, it insists that the balloon was being used for civilian research purposes and not espionage.

U.S. Secretary Antony Blinken was supposed to visit Beijing Friday for high-level negotiations, but his trip has been cancelled abruptly. Global Affairs Canada summoned Cong Peiwu, China’s ambassador.

Global Affairs Canada officials met with China’s ambassador in Canada on Friday. Charlotte MacLeod, spokeswoman for Global Affairs Canada, stated that “we will continue to vigorously communicate our position to Chinese officials.”
